Jon Obi Mikel has taken against Liam Rosenior it seems, and he took issue with some of the manager’s post game comments on Saturday.
After a long period where he and his podcast weren’t making headlines – perhaps because Chelsea were doing well, Jon Obi Mikel is back on the scene, this time being critical of Liam Rosenior.
He has taken issue with the coach’s post match comments after the game on Saturday. Chelsea conceded a last minute corner, and Rosenior admitted in his press conference that it was down to a “missed assignment” in the marking, without naming the player in question.
Mikel didn’t like this.

Chelsea’s marking for the key set piece against Burnley.
“What he said in his post-match interview, saying ‘oh there’s a player that we assign to mark a player or to defend’.”
“No… a manager shouldn’t come out and say that. If you want to say that, go full on and say the whole thing. Call out whoever you want to call out. Don’t go half off. Say it because you started it. Finish it.
“It’s a bit like Enzo Maresca when he said, ‘Oh yeah, this has been my worst 24 hours’, and the press says, ‘can you elaborate?’ ‘No, I don’t want to elaborate’. You’re starting it.”
We’re not sure we agree those situations are comparable. But we’re also not sure it was smart for Rosenior to make those comments. On the other hand, given how obvious it was that there was a defensive mix up, the manager is hardly giving much away by saying there was an individual error.
Sevilla have just wrapped up a deal for a player who was being strongly linked to Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg.
Chelsea had been tracking Omari Kellyman for two years before he eventually signed for the Blues for £19m, a source told the Athletic.
