Cucurella went off injured at half time in the 2-2 draw with Leeds earlier this month, and missed the win against Hull in the FA Cup.

It’s been reported Cucurella has suffered a hamstring injury, the extent of which hasn’t been fully revealed by the club.

It’s believed Cucurella is set to miss three-four weeks, which if accurate means he would miss league games against Burnley, Arsenal and Aston Villa, as well as the FA Cup tie against Wrexham.

It’s a blow for the Blues given his importance, and Cucurella has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season.

The Spain international has established himself as one of Chelsea’s most important players, but once again Rosenior couldn’t provide a time frame when asked about the left back before Saturday’s game with Burnley.

“Again, I can’t give an exact time frame on Marc,” he told his pre-match post conference.

“He’s suffered a hamstring injury. He suffered it before half-time in the Leeds game.

“For me, it’s a real shame, because he’s an outstanding player. He’s one of the best left-backs in the world.”

Jorrel Hato or Malo Gusto to fill in?

Jorrel Hato has filled in, and will likely continue to do so, but Rosenior has also admitted Malo Gusto could be an option.

“But we have Jorrel [Hato], we have Malo [Gusto], who can play on that side,” he added.

“We’ve got really, really good players that can cover. The sooner he gets back, the better.”

Missing Cucurella against Burnley shouldn’t be a problem, but for tricky away games against Arsenal and Aston Villa it’ll be interesting to see how Chelsea cope with the absence of one of their most important players.
