Former Premier League manager Alan Pardew has compared a Chelsea player with legend of the game, Diego Maradona.
Maradona was literally one of the best ever players to play football, so being compared to him is no joke and something pretty major, but read on to understand why Pardew has said this.
I’m sure you’ve all figured out by now which Chelsea player he is talking about as well. I mean, who else can it be at this point?
It’s Estevao Willian, of course!
Estevao has taken to life at Chelsea and he is also taking the Premier League by storm. Enzo Maresca is gradually easing him in at Chelsea but he is playing so well that he will soon become a regular starter in The Blues best line up.

Speaking to Sam Matterface on talkSPORT today, Pardew said on Estevao:
“When you have got a player who can just stand the defender straight up and say, ‘Well I’m going to take you on,’ and he knows he’s going to take him on and still beats him, then you know you’ve got a special player.
“He’s so quick, he’s so close to the ground and he’s got that kind of [Diego] Maradona way that he manouvres the ball.”
Matterface said:
“Estevao, I don’t care that he’s 18, he is the best player in Chelsea’s team right now. I said it before he arrived that he was going to be a superstar.
“And I will tell you this right now, he will win the Ballon d’Or one day.”
