A tough test during pre-season: BVB face Arsenal in a friendly | OneFootball

Between 2011 and 2014, the two teams faced each other six times in competitive matches, all of which took place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. In their most recent encounter, some 12 years ago, Arsenal won 2-0 at home. A year earlier, BVB had won 2-1 in north London.

Friendly matches at a glance

The clash in London forms part of a series of exciting pre-season friendlies. BVB will play their first friendly of the 2026/27 pre-season against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen (18 July, ticket info). As part of the BVB Evonik Japan Tour, there will be matches against Cerezo Osaka (29 July) and FC Tokyo (1 August). To kick off the season on 15 August, AS Roma will be the visitors at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK (members’ advance sales from 3 July, general advance sales from 6 July).
