Reims centre-back Abdoul Koné is expected to join Leipzig in this window, then remain in Ligue 2 on loan until the end of the season.
After interest from Monaco a few months ago, he extended his Reims contract to 2029. According to Le Parisien, Leipzig and Reims have agreed a fee a little over €20m.

Koné will stay in Ligue 2 for the rest of the campaign, a condition set by Reims’ hierarchy to authorise a winter transfer.
Only minor details are left to resolve and the move is expected to be concluded quickly.
A medical is scheduled in Germany on Wednesday, with a contract to 2031 planned to follow.
