Abdukodir Khusanov has signed a new Manchester City contract running to 2031.

The 22-year-old Uzbek defender joined from Lens in January 2025 for 40 million euros, and his previous deal had been due to run until summer 2029. The club said in a statement that he views his next challenge as impressing Enzo Maresca and his staff and securing a regular place in the team.

Khusanov featured in 37 matches in all competitions last season. He spent this summer in North America with Uzbekistan at the World Cup.

The former Lens player is the latest to commit long term, following Phil Foden’s renewal.

City still have decisions ahead, with the contracts of Rodri, Jack Grealish and Mateo Kovacic expiring next summer.
