Gary Rowett hopes Abdul Fatawu and Jordan Ayew can be fit for Tuesday’s trip to Middlesbrough after both sat out Leicester City’s 2-2 draw at Stoke.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the Ghanaian pair sustained issues on the final day before the journey to the Bet365 Stadium.
It was the first Championship match Fatawu has missed this season. He sat out the FA Cup tie at Southampton as a knee precaution, trained in midweek and appeared set to return, then Jeremy Monga started in his place.
Ayew’s absence left City with only one recognised striker in Patson Daka. Rowett said both are dealing with minor problems and could be back for promotion-chasing Boro.
Victor Kristiansen pulled up with an injury in the first half at Stoke. If he, Fatawu and Ayew do not make it, City could have nine senior players out.
Jamaal Lascelles, Jannik Vestergaard, Jordan James, Aaron Ramsey, Hamza Choudhury and Harry Souttar are also sidelined.
One boost arrives as Bobby De Cordova-Reid is available after completing a three-match suspension for his straight red card at Birmingham.
