Abel Ferreira will be on the touchline for Palmeiras at Botafogo on Sunday at 18:30 at Nilton Santos in round 26 of the Brasileirão.

According to Globo.com, the coach had been hit with a two-match suspension by the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva for kicking a microphone, but on Saturday auditor Antonieta da Silva granted a suspensive effect.

The punishment is suspended until the Pleno of the STJD hears the appeal.

The incident occurred last Sunday against Mirassol. Prosecutors treated the kick as unsporting conduct under article 258 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice, and by majority the STJD’s Third Commission imposed a two-game ban.

Palmeiras trained at the Academia de Futebol on Saturday morning before travelling to Rio de Janeiro.

Left-back Arthur, sent off against Mirassol, is out. The Verdão could welcome back Piquerez and Arias, who were on the bench in the goalless draw with Santos in the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday.

A probable XI is Carlos Miguel, Giay, Gómez (Barboza), Murilo, Piquerez, Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira, Jhon Arias, Mauricio, Flaco López and Vitor Roque (Evangelista or Felipe Anderson).
