Abel Ferreira faces disciplinary action after kicking a pitchside microphone and entering the field late in Palmeiras’ 1-1 draw at Mirassol in the 25th round of the Brasileirão on Sunday.

According to UOL, the STJD prosecutor will denounce the coach under CBJD Article 258, which covers unsporting conduct not specified elsewhere, carrying a suspension of one to six matches.

Ferreira is not a first offender at the sports court, having already served two bans for previous dismissals, totalling eight matches, which could weigh against him.

In his press conference, he attacked referee João Vitor Gobi’s decisions, citing incidents involving Felipe Anderson and Marlon and the dismissal of Arthur, and accused the officials of provoking the bench. The rant did not acknowledge a moment that benefited Palmeiras, when a Mirassol penalty was overturned during the game at the Maião.

The draw kept Palmeiras top on 52 points, with Flamengo second on 48 and holding a game in hand. The Rio side beat Botafogo 3-0, with Samuel Lino scoring twice and Jorge Carrascal also on target.

Flamengo face Mirassol at 19:30 on Wednesday, at the Maracanã, in a rescheduled round four match, and a win could increase the pressure on the leaders.
