Barcelona star Iñigo Martínez has this weekend revealed the identity of the teammate whom he is most regularly forced to ‘scold’ when on the pitch.
Stopper Iñigo has for his part of course developed into something of a leader at the back across the season to date.
Afforded increased prominence on the part of new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick, the 33-year-old has taken full advantage, shining on both sides of the ball on his way to starts in all but one of the Blaugrana’s fixtures across all competitions.
Expected to feature from the off once more in Sunday’s derby meeting with Espanyol, Iñigo, this weekend, therefore sat down for an interview with Diario Sport.
During the discussion, the veteran stopper was drawn on a whole host of topics, many of which centered on his teammates.
One such question saw Iñigo asked:
”Who do you have to scold the most to keep in line [on the pitch]?”
And the Spanish international did not hesitate in pointing towards first-choice Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde:
”Actually, Balde. Balde is the most absent-minded of all the back row players, although Jules is also absent-minded from time to time, but hey, I have him much further away than Balde and it’s true that he usually has to put up with me quite a bit during the match.”
