FLW's Leicester City Fan Pundit has weighed in on Lyndon Dykes' move to Charlton Athletic after the Foxes were reportedly showing interest.
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Lyndon Dykes moved on from Birmingham City last week after much speculation over his Blues future, with Leicester City one of the clubs reportedly missing out on him.
The Scotland international has departed St. Andrew's, making the switch to Charlton Athletic on a permanent transfer until the end of the campaign as the Addicks look to avoid relegation back to League One.
He follows Harry Clarke as the second new addition at The Valley, and he had an instant impact on Saturday afternoon after coming on as a half-time substitute against Sheffield United, knocking down a ball for Sonny Carey to fire home what was eventually the winning goal against the Blades.
Prior to Dykes' move to Charlton, the Daily Mail reported that Leicester were interested in a deal for the Scotsman, but the Foxes will now be forced to move onto other targets after Marti Cifuentes failed to re-unite himself with the 30-year-old, who he managed at QPR.
Dykes' game time at Birmingham had become more and more limited in recent months, and he will be hoping that the Addicks can give him the minutes on the pitch that he desires.

While he may have also got that with the Foxes, Football league World's Leicester Fan Pundit, Louchlainn Martin, is incredibly pleased that his side did not sign the striker.
"I think you'll find that a lot of Leicester fans are absolutely delighted to see that Lyndon Dykes has signed for Charlton Athletic," Louchlainn told FLW.
"We don't know if it was agent talk, we don't know if there was actually any truth behind it. We assume there might have been a little bit of truth, the fact that he was actually managed by Marti Cifuentes at QPR previously.
"But if you look at his goal record, that was a problem for Leicester because Leicester need goals and Dykes hasn't proven over the last two years that he's going to get goals.
"So, a lot of Leicester fans were unhappy and frustrated with the link and the rumours in the first place. We wanted the club to stay clear of Dykes and thankfully that is the case, and he's on his way to Charlton. So, you'll struggle to find any Leicester fan that is disappointed that we've missed out on him."
This is Dykes' sixth season in the Championship, yet he has not reached double figures in goals since his very first campaign in the division.
He found the back of the net just twice in 21 appearances for Birmingham this season before joining Charlton, after he scored only once in League One during Blues' record-breaking promotion campaign in League One last time out.
This is a risky signing for the Addicks, even despite his debut contributions, and while Leicester do need more strikers to help them in their quest to climb up the Championship table ahead of the run-in.

Missing out on Dykes could be for the best as the Foxes look to put their inconsistency behind them, and they will hope that he does not find consistent form in London, as it will be a bargain they missed out on.
