AC Milan close to signing Strasbourg’s Diego Moreira for over €40m | OneFootball

AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of finalising a deal with RC Strasbourg Alsace for the transfer of Diego Moreira (22), according to information from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Although he was reported to be very close to joining RB Leipzig, the Belgian is now set to head to Italy to begin a new chapter in his career. Eager to finalise the deal swiftly, the Lombardy-based club is expected to pay €45m to secure his signature. This is a substantial sum, but one the Rossoneri are reportedly willing to offer to RCSA, given that Moreira’s value is expected to rise significantly in the coming years.

Having come through the ranks at SL Benfica and played for Chelsea and Olympique Lyonnais, it was at Strasbourg that Moreira finally really launched his career at the highest level, establishing himself as a key member of the Alsatian club’s squad. He has started 62 of the 76 matches he has played for the club across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing 16 assists.
