AC Milan part company with Massimiliano Allegri and three chiefs, Zlatan Ibrahimovic retained | OneFootball

AC Milan have announced the departures of head coach Massimiliano Allegri, chief executive Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. All leave with immediate effect.

The club said in a statement that the overhaul follows a clear failure, and is aimed at returning to the Champions League and putting in place foundations to win and remain at the top of Serie A. Milan thanked the quartet for their work and commitment.

Milan finished fifth in Serie A after collapsing over the run-in, taking only 10 points from as many league matches. They had been second for a significant stretch of the campaign.

The club added that further appointments will be communicated once finalised, with the goal of having a structure ready for next season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the owner’s adviser, is not part of the departures.

Moncada’s profile is admired at Nice, who face Saint-Étienne this week in a bid to preserve their Ligue 1 status.
