AC Milan ‘to sign’ Diego Moreira for €45m under Amorim, Benfica could profit | OneFootball

Gazzetta suggests that AC Milan have agreed a deal with Strasbourg to sign Diego Moreira for €45m, with completion possible this week. The move could hand Benfica a solidarity windfall.

The fee would make the Belgian winger Milan’s second-biggest buy of this window, behind Gonçalo Ramos at €74m.

Moreira, a 22-year-old left winger, fits the profile favoured by Amorim, Milan’s new head coach, and the club hierarchy. Milan are prepared to invest in a player considered to have ample upside, whose market value could rise in the next two or three years.

Moreira spent three years in Benfica’s academy and made only two senior appearances. He left the Estádio da Luz for Chelsea in 2023 on a free transfer.

If this transfer is completed at €45m, Benfica would receive 1.5 percent via FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, roughly €675,000.

He enhanced his reputation at Strasbourg last season, playing 42 matches with five goals and nine assists.
