AC Milan are reportedly keeping close tabs on Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas, who could be destined to leave the club in 2026.

The Background

The Greek international has already showcased his credentials when given the opportunity over the past two years. However, Maurizio Sarri has been exclusively relying on Ivan Provedel since the start of the season, so the frustrated Mandas has yet to earn a single minute on the pitch this term, and there haven’t been any signs of a change on the horizon.

Lazio Consider Christos Mandas Surplus to Requirements

Earlier this week, it was reported that Lazio have decided to sell the 24-year-old in January before his value further plummets. The custodian was previously linked to Premier League clubs, especially Wolverhampton Wanderers. Nevertheless, he might have the opportunity to prolong his Serie A tenure.

Milan Interested in Mandas

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Milan have set their sights on Mandas, considering him a shrewd investment for the future. The Rossoneri have one of the best goalkeepers in the league in the shape of Mike Maignan. However, the latter is currently running on an expiring contract and is reportedly tracked by Chelsea and Bayern Munich, among others.

So while the Frenchman’s future remains undecided, Milan Sporting Director Igli Tare is anticipating a potential exit by trying to acquire the services of a younger profile who can act as a long-term replacement. Hence, the Rossoneri official is seemingly aiming to open talks with his previous employers to secure Mandas’ signature.

Lazio Seeking €15 million for Mandas

Earlier this year, the Greek goalkeeper extended his Biancocelesti contract until June 2029. Transfermarkt is estimating his current value at €7 million, but Lazio president Claudio Lotito has reportedly set his asking price at €15 million.
