Milan go into the game after a 1-0 loss away to Lazio, their first league defeat on the road this season. That result leaves them eight points adrift of leaders Inter, with 60 points from 29 matches so far.
The one clear positive they can still hold onto is their outstanding defensive record; they have conceded only 21 goals in Serie A this season, the fewest in the division, underlining how solid they have been without the ball.
Massimiliano Allegri will still be without Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Matteo Gabbia, who are expected to remain sidelined for several weeks due to injury.
Santiago Gimenez is another concern; he is still working his way back from ankle surgery, and his involvement will depend on a late medical check before kick-off.
There is better news in midfield, where Adrien Rabiot is available again after serving a one-match suspension in the defeat to Lazio. His return is set to push Ardon Jashari out of the starting XI, with the Frenchman likely to slot straight back into Allegri’s preferred setup.
In attack, Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic are expected to keep their places from the start, though Christopher Nkunku and Niclas Fullkrug are also options if Allegri opts to freshen things up in the forward line.
Possible AC Milan starting XI: Maignan; De Winter, Pavlovic, Tomori; Saelemakers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Estupinan; Leao; Pulisic.
The match will kick off at 5pm BST on Saturday, 21st March.
