Morocco head coach Walid Regragui said on Sunday that Achraf Hakimi will return against Zambia on Monday in matchday three of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage.
The PSG full-back has been out since injuring his left ankle during PSG v Bayern Munich on 4 November. It is not yet known whether he will start or be limited to a few minutes.
The news is a lift for Morocco. Regragui thanked Nasser al-Khelaïfi and PSG for releasing his captain 15 days before the tournament.
He said they had remained in contact with the club throughout and that the working relationship was perfect. He also praised Christophe Baudot as one of the world’s leading sports doctors.
PSG were considered to be taking no risk, given their knowledge of Baudot, who worked at the Paris club for years.
