Adam Idah: We feel that we deserved to win derby | OneFootball

Adam Idah scored his 18th goal of the season with a superb finish in the 1-1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox.

The Irish striker was pleased with his finish, providing an equaliser early in the second-half after the Hoops had conceded a goal just before the break.

And he admitted to Celtic TV after the game that there was also some disappointment that the Champions hadn’t taken all three points from the last Glasgow derby of the season.

He said: “I thought we deserved to win and we had quite a few chances that we probably should have put to bed, but at the end of the day it’s a tough game coming here so we take the point.

“I watched my goal back and, to be fair, I thought it was a really good finish. My first touch set me up nicely to put the ball in the back of the net. And Daizen did a great job getting down the wing.

Now Brendan Rodgers’ side will look to take maximum points from their three remaining league games against Hibernian, Aberdeen and St Mirren respectively before the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen on May 24.

And Idah, who was the Hampden hero in last season’s Scottish Cup final triumph over Rangers, is looking forward to the remaining few weeks of the campaign, with the Hoops having the chance of securing another domestic treble.

“We want the momentum going into the cup final,” the Irishman said. “We’ve got three games coming up now and it’ll be an excellent test for us.

“They’re all going to be tough games. We’ve won the league but we want to do the best we can and get as many points as we can out of those games before we go into the cup final, and we’re looking forward to it.”
