Portsmouth drew 1-1 with Southampton at Fratton Park, a result that lifts John Mousinho's side from 22nd to 21st in the Championship table.
After the restart, Léo Scienza put the visitors ahead in the 57th minute, finishing from close range after Finn Azaz led a fast break. Ebou Adams levelled with a glancing header from a corner (77.).
Nicolas Schmid had earlier kept Portsmouth level with sharp stops, denying Adam Armstrong on two first half breaks. Daniel Peretz was largely untroubled at the other end until the equaliser.
The Saints were forced into a change when Scienza went off injured and was replaced by Jay Robinson (67.). Moments later Ross Stewart entered, but Portsmouth's set piece threat told before the later exchanges.
In stoppage time Millenic Alli drilled narrowly wide as Portsmouth chased a winner.
Portsmouth registered 14 attempts and enjoyed 54% of the ball. The Saints produced six attempts, four on target.
Next, Portsmouth host West Bromwich Albion. The Saints visit Stoke City.
