Adana Demirspor have already been condemned to relegation to the third tier in Türkiye, with 11 matches still to play. Heavy points deductions for severe financial problems have left them marooned on -57.

Sanctions have included a transfer ban in 2024 and successive penalties totalling 60 points. Their league record reads 0 wins, 3 draws and 24 defeats from 27 games. The club said in a statement on X in early February 2026 that ownership had passed to its supporters.

That change followed the sports betting scandal in Türkiye, in which president Murat Sancak had been implicated and arrested.

The slide is stark given they were in the top flight only last season. In 2022-2023 they finished fourth, earning a Europa Conference League qualifying berth, with former Ligue 1 figures such as Younès Belhanda and Benjamin Stambouli in the squad.

Their European run ended in the third qualifying round, a penalty shootout defeat in the home second leg against Genk. Finances then deteriorated and debt mounted.

Last season they went down to the second tier with a total of 2 points, after a record of 3 wins, 5 draws and 28 defeats plus a 12-point deduction.

Elsewhere, Yeni Malatyaspor are also set to go down, sitting on -43 points and certain to be relegated at season’s end.
