New Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Adi Hütter committed a light-hearted faux pas at the club’s traditional Handkäse Frühstück, eating the state’s signature cheese with the wrong utensil.

According to Get German Football News, the Austrian arrived after Jean-Matteo Bahoya, Nnamdi Collins and new signing Noël Aséko had taken their turns, along with sporting director Timmo Hardung, with jokes circulating about the local “music” not clashing with the club medical.

Hessian Handkäse is a pungent sour-milk cheese closely tied to Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main area. The local gag “Handkäse mit Musik” refers to the onion-laced marinade and its notorious after-effects.

The 56-year-old ordered his portion without onions and initially struggled with the dialect and the “music” reference. After his first bite, a supporter pointed out that the cheese should not be eaten with a fork. Hütter switched promptly, using his knife for the next piece.
