Satisfied with his players' performance after a scoreless draw against Nottingham Forest, Adi Hütter took stock of the Rouge et Blanc's training camp at St. George's Park.
A draw to conclude their time in England. They faced Nottingham Forest this Saturday, three days after a resounding victory over Coventry City (0-5), and the players of AS Monaco ended their time at St. George’s Park with a draw against the Reds (0-0), despite a clear domination. It was also a chance for Adi Hütter to give an assessment of the preseason to date. 🎙️
I’d like to start by saying that this is our third consecutive clean sheet (smiles)! This draw is a great way to end this training camp in England. In my opinion, we deserved to win, especially in the first half before the game evened out in the second half. No players were injured, and I’m obviously satisfied with that. I’d also like to congratulate Pape Cabral, who played very well in his first appearance with the first team.
I’m really happy with the outcome of this week; we managed to translate our training work onto the pitch. The team showed some great things in the first 45 minutes; the way my players combined allowed them to create several opportunities.
Preseason is also a time to test new systems, depending on the style of play our opponents present. Whatever the tactic, the goal is to improve both with and without the ball, and we're on the right track.
The players called up to their national teams for the 2024-2025 season will resume training on Thursday, while the others will return to the Performance Center the day before, ahead of the trip to Bielefeld next Saturday. We’ll see how much playing time each player will receive.
We have the players to play in a four-back system, but we also need to be able to adapt to different situations. This also allows us to push each player to give their best.
