Adil Rami, a 2018 World Cup winner, will captain France at the 2026 Kings World Cup Nations in Brazil, the Kings League announced on Thursday.
The tournament, staged in Brazil from three to 17 January, will feature 20 national selections from the Kings League ecosystem. The final is scheduled for 17 January at Allianz Parque, the home of Palmeiras.
France will contest the opening match on three January at 18:00 French time, facing Italy.
Brazil, winners of the inaugural edition held in Turin in January 2025, enter as favourites with the backing of a home crowd.
Part of the France squad is already known, with several players unveiled on seven December at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille during The Universe League.
Early call-ups stem from nationwide trials, while others impressed in season one of Kings League France. The list is not yet final, with further names to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Rami has also been announced for a stage role at the Apollo theatre.
