Adnan Aziz: Honestly, I thought everything was over. When you’re a player, your body is your tool. And suddenly, you wonder if you’ll ever be the same. It’s a shock.

Was the pain the hardest part?

The physical pain, you deal with it. The toughest part is mental. Weeks go by, you’re not playing, the messages start to fade. You have to learn to stay strong even when no one sees the work you’re putting in.

Did you ever have doubts?

Yes. I’d be lying if I said no. But I refused to see myself as finished. Every day, I kept telling myself I would come back stronger.

How did your rehabilitation go?

Long. Lonely. Sometimes frustrating. But it taught me patience. Before, I always wanted to rush things. Now, I understand you have to respect every step.

How do you feel today, mentally?

I’m different. More mature. Mentally tougher. Physically, I feel good. Mentally, I’m even stronger than before.

I’m ready. Very ready. This period has prepared me for anything. I want to play, to perform, to show that this injury didn’t stop my story... it restarted it.

Born in Djougou, northern Benin, Adnan Aziz grew up playing tough, instinctive, demanding street football. After spells at Tchemabi FC and Soleil FC, he refined his raw talent. France brought him discipline (Angers MFC, Saumur Olympique). Italy gave him tactical intelligence (ASD Juvenilia Roseto). Now, he looks poised for a comeback.
