Adrien Thomasson will leave RC Lens at the end of the season after turning down a new contract offer.

According to Canal+, the Ligue 1 assists leader with 10 made his decision recently after weeks of reflection, seeking a new challenge.

Club sources indicate the choice has not affected his performances or relationships at Lens. The vice-captain’s departure could be confirmed in the coming days, possibly marking his final outing at Bollaert against PSG on Wednesday.

His next move is expected to be a better-paid, longer-term project in France, with Paris FC or Rennes mentioned as potential destinations.

Thomasson joined Lens in January 2023 and has made 127 appearances, scoring 15 goals. A Coupe de la Ligue winner with Strasbourg in 2019, he hopes to end his Lens spell by lifting the Coupe de France on 22 May at the Stade de France against Nice.
