According to Coluna Do Fla, the Argentine FA has postponed Lanús’s league meeting with Argentinos Juniors, scheduled for Sunday 22, to give both sides breathing space around their Conmebol commitments.

The postponed fixture was due in round six of the Argentine league. Lanús sit eighth in Group A with two wins, two draws and one defeat from five games, having scored eight and conceded eight.

Argentinos Juniors are in the Libertadores qualifiers. After a 1-0 win away to Barcelona in Guayaquil last week, they require a home draw on Wednesday 25, with kick-off at 21h30 Brasília time.

Lanús then travel to the Maracanã on Thursday 26 for the Recopa return. Having won the first leg 1-0, they need only a draw in Rio de Janeiro to claim their first title.

Flamengo must win by a two-goal margin to secure a second Recopa crown.

Unlike Lanús, Flamengo will not get a rest period, as they face Madureira in the Campeonato Carioca semi-final at the Maracanã on Sunday 22 from 20h30 Brasília time.
