Bournemouth are understood to be working from a five-man shortlist of right-backs, including Sevilla’s Juanlu, as they seek a replacement for Alex Jimenez. Jimenez remains suspended and under FA investigation, a situation that prompted a loan move to Fiorentina this summer.
Sky Sports reports that Torino’s Marcus Pedersen and Lutsharel Geertruida are also on the list. President of football operations Tiago Pinto wants a quick deal to give new boss Marco Rose time to integrate arrivals before the season.
Bournemouth have already added 22-year-old centre-back Antonio Silva from Benfica to replace Marcos Senesi, and striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.
Juanlu, 22, is the youngest of the known trio. He has made 109 appearances for Sevilla, including in the Champions League, and can also operate as a winger. His contract with the La Liga side runs until 2029.
Pedersen, 26, plays in Serie A for Torino and heads into the season after representing Norway at the World Cup. He has made 62 appearances for Torino and can also feature in midfield. He has one year left on his current deal.
Geertruida is with Leipzig and spent last term on loan at Sunderland, giving him a season in the Premier League. He can also play at centre-back and is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2029.
