AFC Bournemouth reached Europe for the first time in the club’s history, a draw with Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium last night confirming at least a Europa League place for next season.
Kluivert returned to action with his first minutes since January. Bournemouth Echo reports that assistant coach Tommy Elphick is being eyed for the Bristol City job.
In his press conference, Andoni Iraola joked it would be nice to receive a bottle from childhood friend Mikel Arteta, with the draw meaning Arsenal won the league.
Local councillors sent congratulations to the Cherries. National coverage largely centred on the title picture, but on the south coast the focus is on celebrating the team’s achievement.
Cherries supporters have another match to watch tonight as Aston Villa face Freiburg in the Europa League final. A special souvenir wrap marks Bournemouth’s milestone in today’s Daily Echo.
