AFC Kairat have signed Igor Carioca, the left-footed winger who spent the past two seasons with Corinthians. He helped win two trophies and was a regular during runners-up campaigns in the LNF and Paulista.

In December, he said goodbye to Corinthians on social media. According to Meu Timao, he wanted to stay at Parque São Jorge, but 2026 cost-cutting meant the board did not renew or match his offers.

Carioca played 87 games for Corinthians, scoring 22 and providing 23 assists. He lifted the Taça São Paulo and Torneio Mucho Más in 2025, finishing with 47 wins, 15 draws and 25 defeats. Despite strong numbers, errors in the 2025 finals lingered.

Kairat are a futsal powerhouse, with 51 domestic titles, 2 European Champions League crowns and 2 Club World Cups in the sport. In 2025/26 they will contest the Kazakhstan league and cup, plus the Champions League.

Corinthians have undergone a wider reset. Departures include Marlon, Edimar, Luisinho, Luiz Brizzi, Israel Neto and Deives, as well as academy players Iván Monteros, Andrey and Yann.

The club have not made any 2026 signings, opting to promote youth and retain renewed players. In January they toured Japan, losing 3-0 to Nagoya Oceans and drawing 2-2 with an F-League All-Stars team, and are not expected back until early March for the Super Copa Gramado.
