AFCON 2025: John Utaka sees Egypt and Nigeria in the final

Former Nigerian international striker John Utaka has shared his predictions regarding the two finalists of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

In an interview with Kooora, the former Ismaily SC and Montpellier HSC player named Egypt and Nigeria as the main favorites to reach the final of the 35th edition of Africa’s top football competition.

Asked which teams he expects to contest the AFCON final, Utaka said: “I’m expecting a final between Egypt and Nigeria, and I think Nigeria will win this edition.”

Speaking about the much-anticipated clash between Nigeria and Morocco, the former Super Eagles international expressed confidence in his country’s chances: “I’m predicting a win for Nigeria, thanks to our attacking power, which will be the key factor to make the difference.”

As a reminder, the Prince Abdallah Stadium in Rabat will host a high-profile showdown this Wednesday night between Morocco and Nigeria, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 GMT.
