South African coach Fadlu Davids has emerged as a frontrunner to take over the hotseat at a top African club.
The 43-year-old mentor is said to have stepped down from his role the head coach of Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
Davids guided the Reds of Msimbazi to a 1-0 win over Botswana side Gaborone United in the first leg of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round on Saturday.
Now, sources have indicated that it was his last match in charge of Simba, with a lucrative offer believed to have landed on his table.
The former Orlando Pirates co-coach is understood to be on the verge of taking over as the new Raja Club Athletic boss in the coming days.
Davids is reportedly on his way to Morocco, Casablanca, to finalize an agreement to succeed Tunisian tactician Lassaad Chabbi, who was axed after a string of poor results.
Interestingly, he has previously worked for Raja, serving as an assistant coach to Josef Zinnbauer, where they won an invisible Botola Pro League title and the Throne Cup during the 2023/24 campaign.
Jose Riveiro, who was recently sacked by Al Ahly and outing Kaizer Chiefs coach are also on the shortlist, but the Moroccan giants appear to have earmarked Davids as a suitable candidate.
