Portuguese coach becomes fourth permanent manager this campaign

After 114 days, Nottingham Forest end Dyche era and hand reins to Pereira
Nottingham Forest named Vitor Pereira as head coach on an 18 month contract after sacking Sean Dyche last week.
Nottingham Forest confirmed on Sunday the appointment of Vitor Pereira as the club’s new head coach. The Portuguese manager replaces Sean Dyche who was dismissed after short spell in charge.
Pereira becomes the fourth permanent manager of the season for Forest following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche. The decision underlines the club’s search for stability during difficult campaign.
Dyche sacked after 114 day in the role. His final match was 0-0 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, a result that failed to ease pressure on the club’s league position.
Pereira will take charge immediately and is set to make his debut on Thursday in Europa League clash against Fenerbahce. Forest are looking to improve form after winning only three of their last 13 match in all competitions.
The 57 year-old Pereira was dismissed by Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this season, in November, following a run of 10 match without win. That exit marked the sixth straight year in which he has left coaching role.
Since 2020 Pereira has worked in five different countries, coaching clubs such as Shanghai Port, Fenerbahce, Corinthians, Flamengo and Al Shabab.
He joined Wolves in December 2024 but his spell at Molineux lasted only 11 month.
Nottingham Forest currently sit 17th in the Premier League, just above the relegation zone. The club have gone three matches without a win with 12 game remaining in the season.
