Ayoub El Kaabi has written his name into the history books of Arab and African football after achieving feat no player from the region had ever managed in the UEFA Champions League.

He scoring against Barcelona & Real Madrid in the same edition of the competition.

The Moroccan forward struck against both Spanish giants during the 2025 /26 Champions League league phase underlining his emergence as one of the most decisive Arab attackers of his generation.

How El Kaabi made history

El Kaabi opened his Champions League account this season with goal against Barcelona on matchday 3 converting penalty in match his side eventually lost 6-1 but where he remained one of the few bright sparks.

He then delivered another standout moment on matchday 5 scoring superb header against Real Madrid in dramatic seven goal encounter that ended 4-3 in favour of the Spanish champions.

With these 2 goal, El Kaabi became:

  1. The first Arab player ever to score against Barcelona & Real Madrid in the same Champions League campaign
