FC Bayern is making a special statement ahead of the Bundesliga classic against Borussia Dortmund. The Allianz Arena will also undergo a transformation.
When FC Bayern faces Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena on October 31, the focus won’t just be on the sporting rivalry. The Munich team will take the field for this Bundesliga classic with a special detail on their home jerseys.
As part of “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” the Allianz logo on the sleeve will feature a special design with a pink ribbon. It is an international symbol for the fight against breast cancer and is intended to draw attention to the importance of prevention, early detection, and solidarity.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that FC Bayern has participated in the campaign. On the evening of the big match against BVB, the Allianz Arena will also be lit up in pink instead of its usual red.
President Herbert Hainer explains: “Together we raise awareness, together we take action, together we help—this is the guiding principle behind our commitment this year: Through our initiatives, FC Bayern and Allianz once again aim to draw attention to the issue of breast cancer—while also providing concrete assistance. Every donation helps those affected and their families get back on their feet—and thus back to their normal lives. The lighting of the Allianz Arena is also a visible sign of solidarity with all those affected by the disease and their loved ones.”
It’s not just the FC Bayern men’s team taking part in the campaign. The Bayern women’s team will also take the field wearing the special patch on October 19 in their Bundesliga match against VfB Stuttgart. The Allianz logo on their sleeves and chest is complemented by a pink ribbon.

In addition, a 70,000-kilometer challenge will run throughout October via adidas Running. This number symbolizes the approximately 70,000 women in Germany who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. If the goal is reached, Allianz will make a donation to “Outdoor Against Cancer” (OAC).
Daphne Böcker, CEO of Allianz Customer and Market, explains: “What began as a great idea—to light up the Allianz Arena in pink—has become a real movement under the motto ‘Together. Strong. Against Breast Cancer.’ With this widespread attention, we can make a real difference. Early detection is crucial and can save lives. But what’s especially close to my heart is helping to further break down the taboo surrounding serious illnesses, creating a space for open discussion, and, above all, being there for people when they unfortunately receive bad news.”
In addition, FC Bayern is collecting donations from October 1 through 31 at its stores, the FC Bayern Museum, and the kiosks at the Allianz Arena. Adyen will match the total amount collected and also donate it to OAC.
