Agent arrives at Barcelona offices to discuss exit of midfielder | OneFootball

Barcelona midfielder Oriol Romeu has reportedly requested to leave the club this summer, and it looks likely that he will exit the club. A return to Girona has been frequently touted in recent months.

The Blaugrana are happy to allow him to leave, and on Monday morning, his agent Magico Diaz was filmed arriving at the Ciutat Esportiva for talks over a deal. It has been reported by Catalunya Radio and echoed by MD that Girona only want to bring Romeu back on a free, despite Barcelona paying €3.4m for him 12 months ago.

The other issue on the agenda is reportedly Girona forward Pau Victor, who is also represented by Diaz. The 20-year-old was Barca Atletic’s top scorer last season, and they are keen to bring him back, but missed the deadline to execute his €3m buy clause. They are looking to restart talks with Girona for Victor though.

It seems likely Romeu will end up exiting the club, as he was a signing made with Xavi Hernandez in mind, and after a decent start, struggled for minutes last season. A deal for Victor looks much more tricky. Barcelona would be paying a lot for a striker to play in the third tier, and while they may be considering selling him on, Girona might consider cutting out the middle man.
