Even when their financial situation was not the healthiest, FC Barcelona continued to be linked with some of the most promising talents in world football, and this has not changed when their finances have improved in recent times.

One of the latest emerging names on Barcelona’s radar is Moroccan winger Yassine Gessime. The 20-year-old has attracted attention after an impressive rise in youth football and his strong performances at the FIFA U‑20 World Cup, where he played a key role in Morocco’s historic triumph.

Now, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the youngster’s links with Barcelona were confirmed by his own agent, Herve Cros, recently. Talking in an interview with WinWin All Sports, the representative said:

“Barcelona’s interest in signing Yassine Gessime is real, but so far, there has been no official offer. We are waiting to see what happens next.”

Gessime’s growing reputation has also been reflected at the club level. The winger joined RC Strasbourg Alsace during the winter transfer window and is now regarded as one of the most promising Moroccan talents currently developing in Europe.

Comfortable on either flank, his pace and attacking versatility have helped him stand out among players of his age group.

For now, Barcelona’s interest remains at an exploratory stage, with no formal approach made yet. However, Gessime’s rapid rise following the Under 20 World Cup has already drawn attention from several clubs across Europe, which could make the upcoming transfer window decisive for his future.

As things stand, Barcelona continue to monitor the development of the young Moroccan winger while evaluating whether to take concrete steps toward a potential move.
