Agent of Arsenal star wants quick completion of Real Madrid move

Martin Zubimendi has lost his place in the Arsenal team this season as the Gunners continue to win matches without him. The Spaniard is reportedly unhappy with his situation and has identified one specific club as his preferred destination.

Zubimendi has been at the Emirates for just over a year. During that period, he helped Arsenal win their first league title since 2004, establishing himself as an important member of the squad.

The Gunners believe they signed an outstanding player, but his position has changed since the start of this season. He has spent more time on the bench, with other players competing ahead of him for a place in midfield.

Real Madrid renew their interest

Real Madrid is monitoring Zubimendi after previously failing to sign him. The midfielder wanted to join the Spanish club rather than Arsenal in 2025, but Los Blancos did not make a decisive move at the time.

They now intend to revive their interest. Fichajes says Zubimendi wants the transfer, while his agent is pushing Arsenal to agree to his departure quickly so that the midfielder can return to Spain.

Arsenal still considers Zubimendi a key player and does not want to lose one of the best members of its squad. However, the club’s assessment has not changed the player’s current situation, with limited playing time becoming a growing concern.

January move possible

Zubimendi knows how highly Arsenal regards him, but that has not stopped him from pushing for a move. He reportedly wants the transfer to happen as soon as the January transfer window.

A departure would allow him to join Real Madrid and seek a more prominent role in Spain. The club’s renewed interest could therefore provide the midfielder with an opportunity to change his situation after falling down the pecking order in north London.

However, Arsenal may resist selling him during the season. The Gunners still value Zubimendi highly, and they will have to decide whether keeping him is more important than accepting a suitable offer from Real Madrid.
