Dominik Szoboszlai’s agent has shut down rumours linking the Liverpool midfielder with an exit.

Szoboszlai's future has been debated in recent days, following comments from Hungary boss Marco Rossi. Discussing the national team captain, Rossi said Szoboszlai's long-term ambition has been to representReal Madrid.

It followed another impressive performance from Szoboszlai, who scored the second in a 3-0 win over Brighton in the FA Cup's fourth round. He has scored 10 goals in all competitions for the Reds in 2025-26.

Liverpool are keen to reward those performances and thePremier League champions want to tie Szoboszlai down to a new deal, but have so far failed to reach an agreement on terms. Szoboszlai's current deal expires in 2028.

The player's agent, Matyas Esterhazy has now sought to clarify Szoboszlai's situation by insisting his focus is on Liverpool.

He insisted Szoboszlai is 'not looking outside or elsewhere' and is already at 'one of the biggest clubs in the world'.

“It’s completely normal for the public, when Dominik is performing like this, to talk about what’s next and if there’s something higher," he said, speaking toHungarian outlet NB1.

"For us it’s not a topic. We are mid-season; he has a lot of work ahead of him in the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League. He has said many times how important this competition is for him.

"So at the moment to talk about what will happen in the summer in my opinion is not correct.

"Not to mention, Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and Dominik is in a position within the team that has a lot of reserve, so we are not looking outside or elsewhere.”
