Jaka Bijol has been named in the Team of the Week after Leeds United’s gritty 0-0 at Crystal Palace, with Troy Deeney describing him as ‘aggressive’ in his BBC column.
Daniel Farke’s side played the entire second half with 10 men after Gabriel Gudmundsson’s first-half red card, yet they kept Oliver Glasner’s team at arm’s length.
Leeds delivered a mammoth defensive display at Selhurst Park, restricting Palace to no shots on target. It was the first time a side had achieved that after having a player sent off before the interval.
Deeney praised Bijol for “heading every ball and organising everything”, noting the centre-back maintained his edge after a yellow card without risking another dismissal.
The Leeds defender was selected alongside names from Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham in Deeney’s XI.
