FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their plans for the new season and Nathaniel Brown remains one of their most important transfer targets. However, a quick deal is not in sight. According to the latest information, negotiations could prove to be much more difficult than initially expected

Nathaniel Brown remains one of FC Bayern’s absolute dream players for the coming season. The left-back from Eintracht Frankfurt has not only made a name for himself in the Bundesliga in recent months, but also in the German national team

According to media reports, an agreement has been reached with the player’s side

However, this only clears one of two major hurdles

Frankfurt sticks to its demand

The real problem still lies in the negotiations between the clubs

As The Athletic reports, there are considerable differences between Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt over the valuation of the player, with the Hessians reportedly continuing to insist on a transfer fee of around 65 million euros

A position that seems understandable from Frankfurt’s point of view. Brown still has a long-term contract until 2030 and does not have an exit clause. Accordingly, Eintracht are in a comfortable negotiating position

Bayern, on the other hand, have not yet indicated any willingness to pay this sum, meaning that the record champions remain the favorites in the race for the international, but the two clubs are still a long way from reaching an agreement

Bayern must be patient

According to The Athletic, the transfer could therefore develop into a lengthy hanging game

While Munich are convinced internally of Brown’s qualities and Vincent Kompany would like to see the full-back in his squad, they do not want to exceed their own financial limits at Säbener Straße

The failed transfer of Anthony Gordon to FC Barcelona has already shown that Bayern are not prepared to get involved in costly bidding duels this summer or go beyond the budget limits they have set themselves

This is precisely why the Brown poker is likely to take some time

In addition to Bayern, Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the player’s development. The Londoners are also considered to be interested and could complicate the situation further if a concrete move is made

Nevertheless, FC Bayern currently remain in pole position. Talks with the player are at an advanced stage and Brown is said to be open to a move to Munich

Whether this will be enough in the end now depends above all on whether Bayern and Frankfurt can still come to terms on the transfer fee. As things stand, there is much to suggest that the negotiations will drag on for several more weeks.
