FC Bayern is on the verge of its first major transfer coup of the summer. According to consistent media reports, the Munich club and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a decisive breakthrough in the race for Nathaniel Brown. The German international is expected to sign with the record champions in the coming days.

The signing of Nathaniel Brown is in the home stretch. After negotiations between Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt had recently accelerated significantly, the transfer now appears to be merely a formality.

According to information from BILD, officials from both clubs have agreed in principle on a total package of around 55 million euros. This clears the most significant hurdle.

Eberl and Krösche are now just haggling over the details

Currently, discussions between Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl and Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche are focused solely on the exact composition of the transfer fee.

While Eintracht is pushing for the highest possible guaranteed fixed amount, the Munich side would prefer to structure a larger portion of the sum as performance-based bonus payments. According to reports, a model involving a €50 million base transfer fee plus €5 million in bonus payments could be the final solution.

However, there is little doubt that a basic agreement has been reached.

For Nathaniel Brown himself, the coming days could hardly be more exciting. The 23-year-old is set to make his World Cup debut and is expected to start in national team coach Julian Nagelsmann’s starting lineup for Germany’s opening match against Curaçao.

At the same time, his move to FC Bayern is in full swing behind the scenes. All parties involved now expect the deal to be finalized immediately after the World Cup opener.

With a transfer fee of around 55 million euros, Brown would immediately join the ranks of the most expensive left-backs in soccer history.

Only Marc Cucurella, who moved from Brighton to Chelsea FC for around 65 million euros, and Benjamin Mendy, for whom Manchester City once paid just under 58 million euros, were in a similar price range.

For Eintracht Frankfurt, the sale would thus be one of the most lucrative transfers in the club’s history.

Organizationally, FC Bayern has already made all the necessary preparations. Since Brown is currently with the German national team at the World Cup in the U.S., the mandatory medical exam is to be conducted on-site.

The Munich club has already made the necessary arrangements to finalize the transfer as quickly as possible.

Contract through 2031 is ready

An agreement has been in place with the player himself for quite some time.

Brown is set to sign a long-term contract with the German record champions running through the summer of 2031 and will play a key role on the left side in the future.

The DFB national team player is considered Vincent Kompany’s top target, and Kompany is said to have strongly advocated for the signing internally.

Barring any unforeseen developments in the final talks, FC Bayern will be able to officially announce its first major summer signing in the coming days. For Brown, this would mean a childhood dream coming true—and for the Munich club, it would mean one of the most critical areas of need in the squad would be addressed early on.
