Now a free agent as of July 1, Idrissa Gana Gueye has reached an agreement with Everton to extend his contract. After weeks of negotiations between the player and the club, the signing of this new deal is expected to take place on Friday, July 4, 2025.

The Toffees have put an end to speculation about a return to Ligue 1, where PSG, Rennes, or Paris FC were reportedly interested. Everton has managed to find common ground with Idrissa Gana Gueye for one more season together. The English club is determined to keep the Senegalese midfielder, who, despite being 35, remains one of their key players.

"In the coming hours, Idrissa Gueye will sign with Everton a contract valid until June 2026, with an option for an additional year," reported journalist Santi Aouna.
