Lewis Hall is ready to sign a new contract with Newcastle United to keep him tied to St. James’ Park beyond his current 2029 deal.

As per Ben Jacobs, a full agreement has been reached between Hall, his representatives and the club.

Discussions over the 22-year-old’s future have accelerated in recent weeks, with reports suggesting over the last few days that he had green-lit an extension.

Hall is said to be ‘impressed’ by new manager Matthias Jaissle, who is off to an unbeaten start in the Premier League since succeeding Eddie Howe, having won once and drawn twice in his opening three fixtures.

Meanwhile, having the full-back agree to new terms was a ‘priority’ for the Magpies board and Sporting Director Ross Wilson.

Newcastle fast-tracking Hall’s extension came after they were made aware of concrete interest from Manchester United throughout the summer.

Indeed, the Red Devils have had their sights set on a deal for Hall for several months now, but opted against making a formal offer during the transfer window, as Newcastle had made it clear he was off-limits.

They had already begrudgingly facilitated the exits of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and club captain Bruno Guimaraes, so Hall was an absolute no-go for United.

It’s expected United will renew their interest in the England international next year, as they view him as the most suitable long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, who is now in the final nine months of his contract at Old Trafford.

However, if a release clause is not included in Hall’s new terms, it would make negotiations incredibly difficult for INEOS.
