Agustina Barroso has suffered a fresh injury and will miss Corinthians’ Brasileirão Feminino final against São Paulo at Morumbis on Saturday at 16:30. The centre-back is again unavailable.

The club said in a statement that the Argentine has an anterior injury to her right thigh, so she is not in the matchday squad. No recovery timeframe was provided.

Since returning to Parque São Jorge, Barroso has yet to make her second debut because of fitness problems. She was named in a squad for the first time this year against Vitória in July, during the opening phase of the league.

In January she sustained a recurrent contracture associated with a scar in the left soleus muscle, which led to her being removed from the trip to England for the Copa das Campeãs, the Women’s Club World Cup.

She began a physical transition programme in May and rejoined team training, but pain in the same area returned, delaying her recovery again.

Without Barroso, Emily Lima can turn to Thaís Regina, Thaís Ferreira and the returning Erika to form a back three. Duda Mineira is available among the substitutes.

Corinthians must win at Morumbis to clinch an eighth national title after losing the first leg 2-1. Victory by one goal forces penalties, a bigger margin secures the trophy in normal time, any other result gives São Paulo the title.
