On Wednesday, Agustina Barroso reached 130 days without taking the field for Corinthians since her signing was announced on 10 January 2026.

According to Meu Timao, the Argentine defender suffered a contracture linked to a scar on the soleus in her left calf during pre-season and has not fully recovered.

The injury kept her from travelling to the Copa das Campeãs in January and she has now missed 18 matches.

She returned to controlled on-pitch work with the squad in early May as Corinthians prepared for the Paulista opener against São Paulo, but discomfort in the same area forced her out again.

Barroso was one of five additions for 2026 alongside Ana Vitória, Paola García, Belén Aquino and Rhaizza. She previously had a brief spell at Corinthians in 2017, making two appearances in the Libertadores-winning campaign.

After leaving, she played for Palmeiras, Ferroviária, Osasco Audax, UAI Urquiza in Argentina, Tenerife and Madrid CFF in Spain, then Flamengo. Corinthians brought her back on a free to cover Mariza’s move to Tigres of Mexico.

There is still no return date. The Brabas face Santos on Thursday in the Campeonato Paulista, then Mixto on Monday in the Brasileirão.
