Ahanor to spend season on loan at Crystal Palace before making Chelsea move | OneFootball

Crystal Palace have completed the loan signing of highly-rated young defender Honest Ahanor from Atalanta.

The 18-year-old Italy international has joined Palace on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season.

It comes after Chelsea announced Ahanor will join them on a permanent basis next summer.

He will now continue his development at Selhurst Park ahead of that move.

“I’m very happy to be here and to be a part of this great family,” Ahanor said.

“To be at one of the best clubs for young players in the Premier League is something which makes me grateful and excited.”

Palace chairman Steve Parish believes Ahanor’s arrival will provide further competition within the squad.

“Honest is an exciting young talent whose arrival offers further competition for places ahead of another European campaign at Selhurst Park,” Parish said.

“We are pleased to have him with us in South London.”
