Ajax midfielder Sivert Mannsverk will be out of action for at least six weeks due to a foot injury, the club has confirmed on social media. The 21-year-old Norway youth international has undergone hospital examinations which have ruled him out of the squad for a number of games, including Ajax’s Europa League clashes against Brighton & Hove Albion and AEK Athens.

Mannsverk was on Ajax’s bench during the game against Feyenoord last Sunday. The match was abandoned in the 55th minute due to fans throwing flares onto the field and it will be resumed on Wednesday afternoon behind closed doors. Sivert Mannsverk had only played one game for Ajax since joining from Molde FK in the summer. He featured for 45 minutes during the 3-1 loss to Twente. Now, the new acquisition will have to wait a while for more opportunities.
