Ajax’s Chuba Akpom subject of interest from a third of Ligue 1 clubs | OneFootball

Ajax striker Chuba Akpom is the subject of interest from a third of the clubs in Ligue 1, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

The Englishman, who has previously played for the likes of Arsenal and Middlesbrough, is currently at Ajax. However, this season, under Francesco Farioli, he is not playing in his usual position. Rather than playing through the middle, he is playing out wide. Despite playing an unfamiliar role, he still has seven goals in 27 appearances in all competitions, however, the Englishman would be open to a loan move away from the Eredivisie club this January.

Akpom would be open to a move to Ligue 1 in January and there certainly isn’t any shortage of interest. For various reasons, many clubs in France’s top-flight are in the market for a forward next month and many have identified the Ajax man as a target. RC Lens, Stade Rennais, Lille OSC, OGC Nice, FC Nantes, and AS Saint-Étienne are all interested in the player.
