Ajer on staying at Brentford: I come in every day with a smile on my face | OneFootball

Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer has explained why he has chosen to sign a new contract with the club, which will keep him in west London for another four years.

The defender spoke about the family feel at the club, the ever-growing daily standards, and his desire to keep pushing himself and his team-mates.

"I'm really, really delighted," said Ajer on his new deal. "It's a club where I've spent four and a half years of my career now, and I'm super happy to extend my stay here.

"The players, the backroom staff, and the whole club just feel like a real family for me, so being able to stay for four more years is really good."

He added: "I've said it before, and I really mean it: this is probably the best club in the world from Monday to Friday!

"I look forward to driving in every day. I drive in with a smile on my face, knowing that I'm going to see so many friends and so many people striving to be better.

"It's a group of players that I really love spending time with.

"I want to keep developing and keep helping the people around me become better, too.

"I want to keep making the culture at Brentford as good as it's been since I came here. A lot of players are pushing really hard to keep those standards.

"That's something that you can never take for granted, and something I want to work on every single day I'm at this football club."
