Al Ahli ‘open talks’ for Radhi Al-Otaibi after Al Hilal failed to sign him | OneFootball

Al Ahli have moved closer to landing Saudi right-back Radhi Al-Otaibi, with negotiations opened with Al-Ettifaq, according to Goal.com. The push follows Al Hilal’s failed attempt to sign him during the last winter window.

Al-Otaibi’s contract at Al-Ettifaq expires at the end of next season, a factor that could make the club more flexible on a fee rather than risk losing him for nothing.

Regarded as one of the leading right-backs in Saudi football, he was targeted by Al Hilal after Portugal’s Joao Cancelo departed.

He came through at Al-Wehda and broke into the first team in 2019. He then joined Al-Ahd, moved to Al-Hazem, spent a loan spell at Al-Qadsiah, and signed for Al-Ettifaq in summer 2023.

The 26-year-old has been a regular and hit his peak last term, playing 25 matches and supplying three assists.

Al Ahli already have Ali Majrashi and Mohammed Abdulrahman at right-back, leaving questions over how Al-Otaibi would be used next season.
